What’s In My Handbag?

What's In My Handbag?

We all love to have a good nosey into other people’s stuff, don’t we?

I mean, I genuinely believe that 75% of the reason I read blogs is to have a look at other people’s stuff and what they do with their time. Okay maybe 90%…

So, I thought I’d bring out an old classic today. The ‘What’s In My Bag?’ post! Hoorah. Shall we start with the bag itself?

I’m rubbish at handbags. I have maybe owned three, max., in my 21 years, and never ever use them. Basically I’m doing a bag post and have literally only been a normal bag user for like a month. I just hate having to carry things around. I’m more of a pockets gal (and we all know how hard that is because clothes brands kinda forget that pockets exist – am I right, ladies?) but the bag scene has slowly crept up on me. This bag, for example, is my baby. It’s currently in the sale, curse you H&M!, and I lavvvv it. It’s small enough not to get in the way or annoy me, hangs at the right length over my shoulder, the fake leather doesn’t look too rubbery AND it opens up in such a way that tells pick pockets to F off. (It doesn’t open into the gaping front bit – there’s actually a black fabric flap that means it still only opens from the top so any hand going in is like ‘oh, okay…’). I also clipped a super cute pink pompom, also H&M, to the buckle on the side because I’m a cool fashionista with a bag so… [similar here].

My gorgeous black Urban Outfitters purse, kindly bought for me for my birthday, and my keys are also a must. The wallet is just perfect as its big enough to keep all my cards, including all my metro tickets and navigo card, all my euros AND even fits my passport in for when I’m travelling. Yay! I can lose everything all together! [similar here] My keys are included for obvious reasons, but I love my little mushroom keyring – bought for me by Oliver after I completely flunked an essay one time and was beside myself. I don’t care what you say, sale price keyrings definitely do act as a substitute for love. [similar on etsy]

If we’re going to add obvious things, my iPhone 6s is obviously going to be included. I adore my phone. I adore it more than anything. I couldn’t live without it. To keep it safe I have it housed in this disgustingly patriotic Kath Kidston case, bought at Gatwick before a flight back to Paris. Yeah – some call it sad, I call it… sad. Still, I get loads of compliments from Americans on it so I’m not complaining. I keep it in the little side pocket of my bag, along with an individually wrapped teabag, semi-stolen from the Petit Palais café (they gave me two teabags and I only needed one but…). I love tea.

What's In My Handbag?

A few little non-essential, but secretly essential, bits include my iPod shuffle (for when I don’t want to talk to weirdos on the metro), my invisibobble, MooGoo’s Strawberry Tinted Lip Balm, and possibly my favourite scent of all time: a 5€ bottle of spray from Monoprix that I bought on a whim and will never ever regret. This particular spray is peony scented and is just stunning, but they do all sorts of super sweet scents, all airport security sized and all genuinely delicious. Such a fan.

And that’s pretty much it! I mean, obviously it varies from day to day. Sometimes I have my camera along for the ride, sometimes I have my other phone in there too (because having a French number and an English number is the worst). I’m looking forward to Spring getting a little bit Springier so I can find myself some amazing new sunglasses to add to the pot!

What do you have in your handbag?
Are there any essentials that you think I’ve missed?

My first thought when I saw you bag was ‘That must be great to prevent pick-pocketing.’ And then you said that it was! I think the universe is calling me to that bag, haha. Plus it’s cute 🙂 I love your phone case as well, there’s nothing wrong with being a little patriotic when you’re away!

Of course I only read blogs to stalk other people 😉 Thank you for letting me glimpse into your handbag 😛 Your ‘Yay! I can lose everything all together!’ made me laugh so hard 😀 It’s one of the reasons why I don’t put my car keys on the same key ring as my house key 😉
I would also pack hand lotion, handkerchiefs and an umbrella (depending on what it looks like when I leave the house obviously).

I love the phone case! It’s cute. I’m like the total opposite to you, though. I have SO MANY handbags. I can’t get enough of them. And I carry so, so much in them. I wish I could carry as little as this! Great post – I love having a nosy too 😉 x http://www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
