[dropcap]R[/dropcap]aindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, etc. etc. You know how it goes. It’s a list of all the things that are pretty cool, pretty nice to think about, and also a list of things that, apparently, will get you through a storm if you don’t like thunder. Pretty dece.
Now, I don’t mind thunder. Thunder is fine. Storms are fine.
I was sitting in bed thinking about what kind of blog posts I should be writing, and I realised that a lot of the stuff I blog about is pretty heavily beauty based, despite me wearing the same makeup day in, day out, forever: slick black cat eye, dark brow, little bit of a highlight. Sure there are variations, but I can’t actually remember the last time I wore eyeshadow, and I wear lipstick maybe once a month, at a push.
I’m such a big tea drinker and there’s nothing I like better than a little sentimental mug. Obviously my real favourite is a big old Sports Direct mug but, I mean, aesthetics. Instead I’ve chosen my second favourite mug, bought lovingly by me from the gift shop of the Pantheon, Paris. I lived a stones throw away from the Pantheon on my year in Paris, so it just makes me happy to look at and drink from. Cute.
Next up is my trusty journal. What started out as a minimalist bullet journal has now become a journal, diary, scrap-book, notebook for uni, and everything else. I hold my life in my little black journal, made ever so edgy by the addition of a label made with my hella cool label maker. I couldn’t live without it. It completes me. My Instax Mini 90 camera helps me out a bit with this too as it makes capturing moments super easy and super cool. Have I mentioned how cool my whole journal thing is?
Fashun wise, there are two things that I can’t get enough of. The first is this gorgeous pair of copper/rose gold point heels – perfect for summer weddings, events, graduations, etc. etc. They’re so so comfy and so flattering and I’m in love. The best pair of heels I’ve ever owned. Then there’s my baby: Fjallraven Re-Kanken 16L Backpack in Yellow. I bought this a while ago to replace the trusty Paperchase zoo animal bag I called Dora and wore religiously. As I’ll be 23 in September, however, I thought it was time for the zoo animals to retire. Still, the fun didn’t have to end. Yellow was the perfect colour choice. I’m obsessed.
What are your favourite things at the moment?
