The Kiko Fall 2.0 Collection, First Impressions

[left][dropcap]K[/dropcap]iko is a brand that I’ll always have a little bit of a soft spot for. Their cheap but wonderful makeup makes up a decent part of my own makeup collection. Their packaging is always quirky, fun and beautiful, and their range of shades in everything is to be envied by some of the more expensive brands.

Recently they released their new range: the Fall 2.0 collection. I managed to get my hands on a few samples (thanks so much, Kiko) and thought it only fitting that I write up a little introduction to some of my favourite bits.

So, let’s get down to business. (Are you singing it too?)

First is the Creamy Matte Foundation*. Unfortunately the shade sent to me is about two shades too dark for my skin (the curse of always being the palest shade in the collection) but the foundation itself is lovely. Still, from what I tried of it, it’s a beautiful heavy coverage foundation that blends well and leaves the skin matte and smooth. I’m more of a dewy gal when it comes to foundation, but I’m definitely willing to try something new.

Possibly my favourite of the set is the Pressed Bronzer Duo*, here in Bright Life (01). I love this bronzer. I’ve worn it every day for the last week and honestly, it’s fab. It’s a beautiful colour, matches my skin perfectly, and blends really nicely. The little highlight section is also fab for giving your skin a little boost amongst the bronze. Great for contouring and great for looking like you’ve just come back from the Maldives. I’ll be popping this in my regular makeup bag for sure!

The Pressed Duo Blush* is also a win, so far. I have it in New Coral (01) and it’s a gorgeous blend of pinky peach and a slight bronze. Again, great for looking like you’ve just come back from the Maldives. Wearing the bronzer and blush together has been an absolute pleasure so far. It’s also nice and matte, so you can still pop a great highlighter on those cheek bones and not worry about looking like a Christmas bauble. Again, I’ll be using this very regularly, I think!

Finally, Kiko have really impressed me with a fab lip duo in the name of the Creamy Lip Stylo* in Innovative Nude (01) and the matching Lip Liner*. Innovative Nude is a bright pale pink, if that makes sense. I wouldn’t really call it nude at all. It’s more of a pale pink lipstick with a slight coral undertone. It sounds like something I wouldn’t go near but I actually like it quite a lot. It might even be a new fave for me. The only downside is that it’s very matte, and quite drying on the lips. Still, if you prep well it’ll probably be okay. I love the colour and finish so it’s a small price to pay!

So far, Kiko have really impressed me with their new Fall 2.0 collection. The packaging is gorgeous as usual, with that fabulous deep blue making the whole range look really luxe and exciting. I’d have no problem whipping out one of the products at a fancy-pants do. I also think I’ve definitely found a few new favourites, but only time will tell! x
