Shall We Have A Catch Up Over A Brew?

Shall We Have A Catch Up Over A Brew?

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ell, I’m all moved in an unpacked and here we are! I’ve made a chair, a set of drawers, a desk, a bedside table, and painted over some gross marks on the wall, and I’m feeling pretty damn good about myself. Shall we have a little catch up? Grab yourself a brew.

It’s Monday night (at time of writing, lol) and I’m in my PJs, sitting at my fresh desk with fairy lights twinkling away behind me. I’ve just downed a mug of tea but I think I want another one so I might go sort that out for myself. My housemate Elliott has just given me the weirdest birthday/moving in present EVER and that will appear on my instagram at some point so keep an eye out. It’s absolutely awful which makes it so so brilliant.

I also have a set of acrylics on (for the first time ever) and I’m unsure about them. On the one hand (lol) they look AMAZING and I’m obsessed, and on the other hand they make typing this a pain in the arse and also things like undoing my belt and picking things up. They’re not even that long, and I’m getting used to them, but yeah. I’ve had them almost a week now so they’re feeling okay. I’ve also just tinted my eyebrows and they are looking highkey fire right now.

Despite the raging spot on my chin – the result of a week of mild homelessness and cleansing with makeup wipes… – I feel pretty good.

Shall We Have A Catch Up Over A Brew?

So, I’ve officially had one whole lecture of this new year at Durham, and this new chapter in my academic life. As usually happens with patristics, I was way out of my depth and yet still managed to blag my way through the two hours. It’s helpful when you know the lecturer quite well and are an all round manipulative nightmare. I’m the real MVP.

(Brb, making that second tea.)

Right, where was I?

Yeah so so far, so good. I think it’s going to all be okay – if actually quite a fun year. I’m back in the city I love, surrounded by people I love, doing a subject that I do actually love. I know, so soppy.

Having said that this year I was facing a new challenge, I’m feeling really positive for the next 12 months.

I’ve even sent out three (!!) job applications in the last week. Yeah. Pretty cool.

So that’s where I’m at, at the moment.

Other than that, what have I been doing?

Well, have you seen Crazy Ex Girlfriend on Netflix? I put off watching it for absolutely ages because the title really put me off but actually it’s so so good. So funny and cute and not at all sexist in the way I thought it was going to be. I’d really recommend it. It’s just nice to have on and relate to and there’re legit a million episodes so you can binge it for hours.

Also I have on Louis Theroux’s new documentary right now and it’s brilliant as always.

Tonight has been a good night.

I’m just feeling good at the moment. My blog has drastically improved over the last month or two and I feel inspired. This catch up has also been really nice, and a great way to show off a snippet of my new room. That folky cushion is IKEA and isn’t it a babe?! Lol that it’s upside-down. How did I not notice?

Everything is coming up Milhouse.

Really pleased to hear things are going so well for your fourth and final year at uni! It must be so nice to be all moved in after a tense week of semi-homelessness. Your place is looking good, and well done on putting together furniture. I suck at doing that. I couldn’t even put together an Argos bookshelf XD x x

I LOVE Crazy Ex Girlfriend. I was the same – I was sort of putting it off, but Getting Bi made me want to watch. And now I’m basically in love with the show, and Nathaniel. Hoooo boy.
