[dropcap]I[/dropcap]‘m all for light bases. There’s nothing better than putting on the tiniest bit of makeup and ending up looking flawless and happy and glowing. It’s the greatest magic trick on earth. With Spring on the way, it’s time to say a fond farewell to the heavy bases of Winter, and hello to something a little lighter. I’ve put together the perfect base combination, for when a heavy foundation just doesn’t feel right.
No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream for Normal / Dry skin | Y’all know how much I love a No7 base. The whole colour matching thing just gets me every time, and who wouldn’t want a foundation that actually matches their skin tone? That said, this super lightweight BB cream doesn’t actually come in their colour selection, so I opted for ‘light’. Easy to build and blend, the BB cream adds that well put together vibe to your face, hiding imperfections, without being heavy and flat. It’s a must have for spring/summer, and also my go-to base for lazy lecture days.
NYX Professional Makeup Concealer Wand | When living in Paris, I picked up a lot of high end makeup, living about 3 mins walk from a massive Sephora. I’m not so lucky in Durham, and forking out for Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Concealer just doesn’t seem as fun in the UK. This is where NYX come in with their perfect dupe. Having finished an entire tube of the Urban Decay, I’m pretty well acquainted with the whole idea, so I was super impressed with NYX. It’s spot on. I like to use a concealer a shade lighter than my base so it reflects light a little more over blemishes, and is handy for contouring.
Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow | To add a little glow to your base, waking up your skin and making you look pure fire, then there’s nothing like Bronze & Glow. I’m obsessed. The bronze is the perfect shade for light skin, not too orange or dark, and the highlight is just the right level of shimmer, keeping t subtle and pretty. It’s perfect for everyday wear, and will really come into its own as the sun gets stronger. With the BB cream being so light, it’s nice to add a little flare to your skin, and Charlotte Tilbury has completely nailed it.0
