Paris Hasn’t Inspired Me (Yet)

Paris RooftopsSo I’m seriously in a bit of a blogging rut. I just can’t seem to think of any half decent ideas for posts, and my instagram is falling flat too. Thanks, Paris.

You’d think that Paris would be amazing for blogging and that I’d be churning out gorgeous Eiffel Tower photos and little backstreet café reviews – but alas, I’m not.

I shared with you all last week that my first week in Paris was a bit of a flop. I can assure you that this week has been so much better but still not quite right. I have had a lot more free time, my french has improved, and the wifi fairy has granted me a super fast internet connection but I’m yet to truly relax and have fun in Paris.

I have intensive French classes 9 til 1 everyday, sometimes 9 til 5, and I spend every other scrap of time either walking around trying to buy things I need in the flat, or simply trying not to fall asleep in front of PLL on my sofa. When I get in from school the last thing I want to do is head back out with my camera, do more walking and take rubbish photos. Oh my goodness, I am tired.

That’s not to say I haven’t enjoyed myself this week. I’ve made some really good friends, had lunch in some nice little places (+ an amaazing pizza), bought myself a few little ‘you can do it’ gifts, and generally tried to spice up each day just a little. On Wednesday I bought a new dictionary so there’s that… and on Thursday I bought a universal screwdriver! C’est la vie.

Hopefully this will all change this week as Ollie is coming out for my birthday (!!!!!EXCITED!!!) and I haven’t seen him in months and its Paris and also its my birthdayyyyyy – September 18th if you’re taking notes. I’ll be posting café posts, touristy posts, birthday present hauls (maybe..) and generally actually enjoying myself for a little while. Can you tell I’m excited?!

This post is going to be kept short, however, because its more of an apology than a statement. I’ve been so constantly tired and busy that blogging has really taken a back seat and for that I’m really sorry. I promise it’ll pick up super soon and you can take a look at some classic Paris blog posts in no time.

I mean, why blog at all if you’re not going to mention Paris at least once, right?

P.S. Have you taken a look at my fabulous September advertisers yet? They’re just over there in the side bar and quite honestly they’re the bees knees.

I feel you! SInce I arrived back in Sweden for university, I also feel so uninspired and unmotivated. But I’m sure you’ll have a great time when your birthday comes around and I’m looking forward for the Paris blog posts 🙂

I guess we just have to get over the stress of moving and settling in and then it’ll all just come? I hope so! Sweden would be amazing I’m a little jealous (: Thanks for reading! xx

Hope you find some inspiration soon Imii- the schedule sounds intense! My best friend is studying in Paris like you and has had all the same issues as you mentioned in the previous post… wifi and language issues in particular! I hope it continues to get better and have fun xo

Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a lovely day (:
I totally feel you on the not wanting to take blog photos. Working just 9-4 all week is killing me for inspiration and time. Just don’t want to do anything when I get home!

Thank you!! I completely agree – I’m so stressed 90% of the time and the thought of sitting down and doing something else just stresses me out more! Its getting a lot better now though xx
