[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]eah, I don’t wear glasses. These are my sister’s. She has/had a lazy eye and never wears them and glasses always look so great as photo props so…. whoops! Might have to invest in some fake glasses. Is that lame? I know Urban Outfitters do some… Oh my, what am I turning into? It’s like I’m 15 with those 3D cinema glasses all over again. Don’t even pretend you don’t know what I mean.
Anyway, what I’m going to do today is take you through what I normally slap on my face if I cba with doing any actual makeup stuff. The basics that give my skin a glow and do nothing more.
For a base I’m really into mixing my Bare Minerals Prime Time primer with the Complexion Rescue BB on my hand before applying with my fingers. It’s super quick and really bloody easy to do, and saves time in not doing them one after the other. It also means that it dries a little dewy which is my jam. A nice even base, not cakey, that’s going to stay on all day.
To conceal the bags and blemishes I’m really into using two concealers at the moment. The first is more heavy duty: the Benefit Industrial Strength Boi-ing, and the other is for highlighting and finishing: the L’Oreal Lumi Magique. I then add to the highlight with the Benefit Watt’s Up! highlighter, using my super handy half and half pot. Finally I sweep a little Milani blush over the top, just to give my face a little more colour, and stopping it looking too flat.
At this point I will also do my eyebrows, but I consider that such a staple that I didn’t even think to photograph what I use. On chilled out days I use Sleek’s Brow Stylist in Dark (surprisingly, as I’m blonde).
For my lashes I’ve been using L’Oreal’s Lash Paradise mascara, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere online in the UK. I bought mine in a supermaket in Canada cause I’m a cool gal, but I looked really hard for it here. It’s very similar to the Too Faced Better Than Sex, which is an all time mascara favourite of mine. It’s thickening and curling and basically great. It is, however, an absolute pain to get off. Panda eyes forever. Serves me right for picking up the waterproof one, I guess. L’Oreal’s Paradise mascara looks incredibly similar so maybe give that a go.
Finally, if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll throw on some lips. I picked up Kat Von D’s Lolita II in Seattle and am obsessed already. It’s only been like two weeks but I’ve worn it pretty much every other day. I’m really starting to get into lipstick a lot more lately. Lolita II is the new Lolita, Kat Von D’s bestselling liquid lipstick. I tried Lolita and it just wasn’t for me, but II is perfect. Far more orange in tone and perfect for my skin. It also lasts incredibly well, so that’s always a win on lazy days!
