As much as I enjoy buying and reviewing new exciting things, generally my makeup tends to follow the same basic trends…
I have a very eclectic taste in makeup, ranging from high end to very budget – but whatever works for you right… But what if I was going out for the day, not somewhere especially fancy, maybe just for lunch or a coffee? Let me show you the things I put on my face daily to make me look presentable.
Base
So normally (if I remember) I prep with Bare Minerals’s Prime Time Primer. It really is a great little primer and my makeup lasts for forever – probably literally – when I use it as a starting point. I then follow with Superdrug’s B. Flawless foundation in Rose Ivory. It’s a great light foundation, perfect for getting that spring/summer dewy skin and matches my face perfectly! It also has SPF 15 so naturally I jumped to buy it!
In terms of concealer, I tend to alternate between the Holy Grail that is Collection’s Lasting Perfection (in Cool Medium) and B. Flawless Long Lasting Concealer (Light). One is obviously a liquid concealer and the other a stick but honestly what I choose depends entirely on what I grab first. I also do tend to add concealer after my foundation and buff it in with the rest of my face – that way I don’t accidentally brush it off when applying foundation.
To add a bit of colour to my now flat and beige face I use w7’s Chunky Cheek stick in London. It is quite a bold orange when first applied to buffing is essential, as it is with w7’s Honolulu Bronzer which has the most incredible pigmentation and takes almost nothing to contour with. I also use Topshop’s Glow Highlighter to add a bit of light catching sparkle!
Eyes
So eyes are always exactly the same, give or take a bit of shadow for special occasions. I love a nice dark flick and dolly lashes. Eyeliner is something that I know a lot of people struggle with getting right – I personally use a pot and brush from Bobbi Brown in Espresso Ink (a really gorgeous dark brown). I tend to find gel and brush liner stronger and all-round easier! I also use Bobbi Brown’s Extreme Party Mascara in Black Chocolate. Its a lovely light mascara and extremely long wearing – I would probably use a heavier one for nights out but this is just perfect for day and hold’s a curl so beautifully!
Brow wise I am a sucker for MUA’s Pro-Brow Kit for Fair-Mid. I raved about it a while ago in my Spring Favourites and my opinion hasn’t changed. Weirdly, I actually use the darkest of the colours to do my brows (despite being a light blonde). It really is a perfect shade and the setting gel provides a perfect finishing touch!
Lips
So lips are always a tough one because they depend heavily on where I’m going and what I’m doing. A while a go I found my absolute perfect nude from Rimmel and I tend to wear that most days. However, I’ve told you all about that so I thought I’d share another favourite. Essence’s Long Lasting Lipstick in Natural Beauty is a slightly pinkier, fresher nude than the Rimmel, perfect for summer days when your natural lip colour is almost enough. It also does actually last quite well, despite being a budget piece and I adore it!
So there’s a glimpse into my makeup bag for my day to day life. Obviously it does get changed up a bit as new things come in and old come out – but things like my eyeliner will probably never change (touch wood).
What’s your everyday look?

I adored this post! I’ve never tried the superdrugs foundation to be honest I didn’t even know they had one! I’ll have to keep an eye out when I’m in next and check it out 🙂 I shamefully have never tried the lasting perfection concealer either ( I know kill me haha ) I’m waiting till I use up all my ones I have now till I buy it! I actually love the w7 range! their liquid liner is my holy grail!
I’ve always been wary about ‘own brand’ makeup but seriously, Superdrug blow loads of products out of the water! I’d definitely recommend the foundation and concealer (:
I’ve never tried the w7 liner but I’ll definitely keep an eye out for it! xx
exact same as me! I never really tried anything of their brand because I heard bad reviews on their brushes and never really looked into anything else belonging to them after that! I bought mine on ebay for 3.50 I think because it wasn’t at my w7 stand xx
I’d definitely recommend Superdrug’s B. range – it really is very very good and all cruelty free(: Wooo w7! xx
I didn’t know about most of this products, thank you for sharing
