[dropcap]I[/dropcap] love beauty shopping in Paris. I love it. It’s pretty much all the same stuff as at home, and pretty much all the same prices, but I just prefer the experience. Is that really basic and/or lame? I think the buzz of being in a Sephora helps. Ugh, that is lame, isn’t it. But then, all these places like Boots or Debenhams or where ever, they just don’t appeal to me. They’re big and kinda messy and there’s no fun in them. They’re just big shops filled with a lot of things.
On my little trip last week, I managed to pick up a few little bits. Most of them were sneaky Sephora purchases, but I also found an absolute gem in H&M so that was nice for me. The H&M at Cluny is just so fire. It’s the biggest H&M I’ve ever been in by far, and has everything from a huge shoes section, underwear and pj section, and H&M new-ish beauty range. It’s fantastic and I could live there very comfortably. It’s just a bonus that it’s right next door to Sephora, and over the road from a shop that sells every colour washi tape imaginable. Wowee.
H&M Shimmer Drops | Sorry, team. I think these are actually pretty sold out and I’ve never seen them in store. None the less, here is a link so you can just look at them and whatever. They come in two colours (from what I saw in store) and the shades are super similar to the Topshop glow pots. I chose the shade ‘Precious Peach’, similar to the Gleam glow pot. It’s slightly bronzey and warm, and will be great when summer rolls around. That said, I wouldn’t wear it for daily use at all. It’s very sparkly and glittery and damn. Perfect for a night out, perfect for a festival or summer occasion when a normal highlighter just won’t do. Still, it’s so gosh darn pretty.
Sephora Sheet Masks: Pearl (perfecting & brightening) and Lotus (moisturising and soothing) | I know, I know, sheet masks are great but these are probably horrendously overpriced, I get it. I’m not sorry. I’ve loved Sephora’s sheet masks forever, and they’re the first thing that I have ever repurchased. I’m serious. I can’t think of anything else that I’ve ever actually bought twice in a row. Maybe a Lush face mask? My favourites are the two here, Pearl and Lotus. Pearl is my no1 because I genuinely can see a difference in my skin after using it, and that’s pretty rad. Lotus is great because it’s super moisturising and sorted out my winter induced dry patches a treat. Forever stocking up.
Clinique Pep-Start Hydrorush Moisturiser | I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with Clinique since one of their milk cleansers dried my face up and gave me a slight rash. Nice. Hypoallergenic? Hmm… Anyway, I was willing to give them a second chance after their Chubby Stick lip crayons quickly became my everyday staples. Having used the tester in store on the Saturday and had no problems, I picked up this pot on Monday morning. With SPF 20 it’s my ideal moisturiser, and was 100% the reason I chose the Hydrorush over the Hydroblur. I’m really excited to give this some proper use.
Lol I’ve just checked online because for like a week I’ve been thinking ‘why would you call a moisturiser hydrobrush? Why brush? What does that even mean?’ Turns out that I just can’t read.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Soft Brown | Everyone has been raving about this one forever and I was always like okay guys but I don’t use it and my brows are always fire so can it even be that exciting? Well, it turns out that it can be. The Anastasia stand was new in my local Sephora so that was the first exciting thing, and it just kept getting better from there. I’ll admit that the colour is a little darker than I’m used to, but that might just be because I’m not used to how little product I have to use to perfect my brows. That said, I’m just so so impressed with its ability to stay, without fading, all day, and keep me ‘on fleek’.0
