Kuta & Munduk, Bali 2015 | Days 1 to 4

Day 1 & 2 | Kuta

We arrived in Bali late on the Wednesday night and immediately got scammed into taking an expensive taxi to our hostel. Kuta wasn’t my favourite place in Bali (it felt a bit too much like Las Vegas…) While I didn’t take many photos in Kuta as we only had one full day there, here are a few of my favourites. Surf boards on the beach, the Bali Bombing Memorial, Jl. Legian, and fireworks over the sea.

Day 2, 3 & 4 | Munduk

After Kuta we headed into the mountains in northern Bali, the drive taking around two hours. We stayed in the gorgeous village of Munduk, famous for its towering waterfalls and endless rice paddies. The area is known for its agriculture and absolutely everything is grown here. On our hikes we saw bananas, coconuts, cloves and loads more, but the area is most well known for its coffee plantations. While I don’t like coffee, I’m told Bali Coffee is phenomenal.

One of my favourite things about Munduk was how calm it was. Each meal time saw empty mountain view restaurants and gorgeous food. While I couldn’t get a photo, the best view was the night time view from our hotel over the valley. Cloud covered mountains and twinkling lights.
