As we all know, a few weeks ago I decided to be brave and cut my long blonde hair short.
Making the cut wasn’t easy for me. I love my hair and would be nothing without it. Seriously, I feel like I keep a lot of my confidence in my hair and its taken me a little while to find it again after cutting it all off. I have to wear slightly different clothes and style my hair and makeup a little differently to make myself feel happy but it looks nice and hey, it’ll grow back.
So why did I do this to myself? My hair was AWFUL. I mean seriously bad. A year of bleaching the life out of it had really taken its toll. My hair, when wet, took about an hour to comb through fully. AN HOUR. My poor hairdresser apologising over and over every time she pulled at my scalp and me apologising to her and telling her it wasn’t her fault. Eventually I just broke and bam, short, tangle-free hair.
Something that has been really helping what I have left has been Herbal Essences’ Bee Strong Strengthening Cream. Brushing my hair when wet is still a little bit of a hassle and the damage is still there a little so I’m taking extra steps to care for it until its healthy again.
So this spray-foam is designed to be applied to wet hair and provide a ‘dose of nourishment’. Simply pump into your hands, smooth over your hair and bam, good to go!
I’m going to start with the scent, just because it’s truly stunning. I love Herbal Essences purely because of their amazing scents. Bee Strong is a gorgeous mix of honey and apricot and reminds me a little of sunshine and ice cream. Honestly, its fabulous. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it smells like very good summer memories.
This gorgeous smelling foam nourishes and protects your hair from combing damage – just what I need as I plough through it with a brush. I’ve noticed a massive change. My hair is less rough-textured and feels silky smooth after application. Brushing is also a hell of a lot easier and I save so much time getting ready, you would not believe it. Hair care is something very new to me as I’ve always been good with my hair and it has always been naturally happy. After all that bleaching I thought I’d never get it back. I’m completely over the moon!
Do I have anything negative to say? I don’t think so – not anything that would stop you purchasing this product for yourself. My one concern is that the consistency of the foam is unexpected. For some reason I expected a kind of shaving foam type consistency, like other hair foams in my collection. However, with a spray nozzle the foam is more of a thick, fluffy liquid that magically applies exactly the same as any foam. It’s like a weird plasma that then dissolves away perfectly. As I say, it shouldn’t, and won’t, put you off – it just took me a little by surprise!
Overall I’m incredibly happy with my purchase and will probably buy it again when I finish this bottle (which will take aaaaages – such good value for money!). If you’re interested in grabbing it for yourself, I picked mine up at Superdrug for £3.99!
