Four Highstreet Skincare Favourites

[/right] [dropcap]S[/dropcap]kincare is my favourite beauty related thing. For real. I’d take decent skincare over makeup any day. With great skincare makeup becomes pretty obsolete. There’s no need for a fab concealer or foundation when your skin is already glowing. That said, there’s also something so lovely about putting on some makeup and feeling great. I guess it’s apples and oranges.

Anyway, I thought I’d share my four favourite bits of skincare goodness at the moment.

First up is a bit of a blogger fave: Lush’s Sleepy body lotion. Cheaper than the ThisWorks bedtime spray, and with double the strength, Sleepy is a must for anyone who, like me, takes ages and ages to fall asleep. It has a rich lavender scent, perfect for relaxing you right down, and moisturises like a dream. I throw a bit on my elbows and hands at night and wake up the next morning soft and refreshed. I can be a bit sticky if you apply too much, but once you’ve figured out your saturation point you’re good to go.

Anything by The Ordinary is another blogger staple. I use a number of their products, but the one I’m most impressed with is the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution. I was recommended salicylic acid when I went to Kensington for my fabulous facial as it exfoliates deep into the pores and softens any blockages. It’s great for skin that’s slightly blemish prone. I use it once or twice a week to freshen my face and I’m very impressed with the results.

My favourite cleanser at the moment is the Soap & Glory ‘The Ultimelt’ Hot Cloth Cleanser. It’s super nourishing and great for removing both light and heavy makeup. There’s also something so lovely about using a hot cloth to cleanse with. Really relaxing before bed time. Basically, if you want a great cleanser that does the job brilliantly, this is your gal.

Finally, a product that I will definitely be repurchasing when it runs out. Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost gel moisturiser is superb. Absolutely superb. I bought it as a non-SPF, good for long haul flights, moisturiser, and have ended up using it every day. It’s cooling and refreshing and sinks into the skin in seconds. It’s gloriously lightweight and gentle, and easy to layer without getting greasy. Honestly, if you buy one moisturiser this year, make it this one. x
