BeauBronz London Soft Sun Self-Tan*

BeauBronz LondonOne of the most exciting stalls at last month’s #bigbloggerconference was that of BeauBronz, looked over by the lovely Abi, their founder.

BeauBronz started in 2001 as a result of the growing need for safe tanning alternatives. The ethos of the brand is on paraben free products containing quality ingredients, free from animal testing – the brand quickly grew and is now available in spas and salons around the UK! This brings us on to the star of today’s post – their new range of home self-tans, in particular the Soft Sun tan for the English Rose (so…me!).

Included in a range that also contains a gradual tanner and darker tan, Soft Sun is best suited for fair skin and provides a natural, healthy glow. I could not agree more! But let’s start from the beginning.

Isn’t the BeauBronz packaging gorgeous? As you can probably tell, I like nothing more than a ‘colour on white’ theme, and as a massive gold lover I was not disappointed. Butterflies and scrolls and pretty leaves? Definitely on to a winner with this. It looks so pretty with all my makeup, lotions and potions. A bloggers dream!

As for tanning, it was possibly the easiest fake tan application of my life. Applied with a tanning mit, the tan just needs to be buffed over the body once or twice before it soaks in incredibly quickly. Pro tip: Abi told us all about only applying tan to where the light would normally catch you and its the best tan tip I’ve ever had! Seriously, why tan the inside of your arms when you wuldn’t tan there anyway?! I actually forgot that I’d even applied the tan about 15 minutes after so that’s pretty good going.

The tan takes 8 hours to develop fully – I left mine on over night and damn my tan is golden. Not a bad, orangey golden, but a ‘did I get back from Bali yesterday, or three weeks ago?’ golden. For a tan I forgot about applying so soon after, the colour is not streaky or patchy and the first wash got rid of any awkward build up around the armpit etc. I’m seriously very impressed.

And now for that all important fake-tan question. Does BeauBronz smell like awful biscuits?

Well, no. Not really. On first application it actually smells lovely – almost lemony. I was actually pretty taken aback by it and almost danced around my room! As the tan develops, the classic fake-tan smell does too. But, it’s nothing we don’t expect. When I woke up the next morning I did smell, bad, but after washing off any build up I was completely smell free, which is hugely unusual in my experience. For a tan that builds gently and looks unbelievably natural, any little smell, later on in the application, is totally worth it. I’m hooked.

I could not be happier with this little bottle of sunshine and will definitely be purchasing more from BeauBronz when this finally runs out. I don’t see that happening for a long time – a very little goes a long long way!

Oooh I like the sound of this because it’s more ‘natural’ so to speak, but then again, I haven’t tried self-tanning ever, so I wouldn’t know what to expect, or how it compares to mainstream self-tan products! Regardless I’m already quite naturally tanned myself but always so intrigued when everyone talks about tanning products 😀

Haha it’s honestly a really great tan and way better than any of the tans I’ve ever picked up in supermarkets or shops! I’d definitely recommend it to anyone!
I’m so jealous of your natural skin! Mine is so pale and blotchy 🙁 xx
