Bit of a photo heavy trip to Versailles so I apologise – none of these photos do it justice at all. I’ve really gone for quantity over quality to compensate.
So on Sunday Ollie and I jumped on RER C to Versailles for a day in the sunshine, taking in the gorgeous palace grounds. The day was absolutely lovely and included a surprisingly cheap pasta salad lunch and an amaaazing strawberry ice-cream so overall I was pretty bloody happy.
We were so lucky with the weather: sunshine but not too hot. A perfect Sunday to top off a really nice weekend with the boy before he goes back home. Next time we see each other will be in London in late October so we’re really trying to make the most of it!
The highlight of our trip was definitely the miniature village that Marie Antoinette had built in the grounds of her château. It’s really bloody weird. Like, at first you’re like ‘that’s cool I guess’ and then you wander around and you realise how weird it really is. A whole village, completely empty, built so that the queen could pretend to be poor. No wonder the French got annoyed. Seriously, whattt?
Next weekend is going to be a quiet one, I think. With Ollie gone and the first week of school over I think I’ll need all the rest and relaxation that I can get!

Thank you! I’d definitely recommend a trip (: xx
Lovely! I went to Versailles ages and ages ago and it was in winter so I didn’t get to see much other than freezing grounds, I didn’t even know about the village!

I can imagine it was gorgeous in Winter though! Frost and fallen leaves, etc – I might go back to see it!
The village is honestly the weirdest thing. We learnt about it in History at school but until you see it you have no idea quite how weird it is! xx
Your photographs are absolutely beautiful, I am literally missing you so much! Rhi & I will make sure we arrange something soon!
