So I fly off to Mexico on Monday and I’m buzzing – nervous, but buzzing. A nice little solo 10.5hr flight and then I’m officially in Central America and hanging out with Ollie and travelling around a little. We’re hanging around Southern Mexico before hitting Belize and Quatemala, and I can’t wait.
I especially can’t wait to not do any work for three whole weeks. Can you imagine? Three weeks off First World War poetry!! A real treat for me. (I’ll be reading some WW1 novels so maybe less of a break than I have it imagined.)
The thing I’m most excited for, however, is Ollie meeting me at the airport in Cancun. That’s because I’m a lame ass loser and haven’t seen him in forever (as usual).
To celebrate this little trip away, I thought I’d share a few of the things in my rucksack – yes rucksack, not suitcase. I’m a travelling gal. This is my 2.5 week gap yah? At the moment all these things are actually all over my bedroom floor but they’ll find their way into the rucksack soon enough. Hopefully (definitely) by the end of the day.
Annoyingly, all of the swim stuff that I’m taking is either H&M or Tesco so I can’t send you on through, affiliate styley, from here. Take my word for it that Tesco has some absolutely banging swimming costumes/bikinis etc, as well as general summer clothes. I’ve picked up a leopard swimsuit and I am OBSESSED. Fingers crossed I’ll pluck up the confidence to share it with you over on instagram.
A few of my favourite pieces from this little collection are the gorgeous Urban Outfitters sueded cross body bag, the straw hat (TKMaxx, sorry) and amaaaaazing animal print sandals like hot damn. They’re so comfy and look great with a dress or jeans or whatever, and I can’t wait to hit the town in them for some tacos and a big diet coke.
Now all I need is to make sure I store my passport somewhere safe, keep myself protected from that sunshine, and enjoy myself. Can’t bloody wait! x
