Travelling around a lot can often be a little overwhelming.
In fact, unless you’re really on the ball, sometimes life takes over and you forget to take photo or document your trip at all (not that this is a bad thing at all!) There you are wandering around the streets of Paris/Rome/London/wherever and suddenly you realise you have a blog to run back at home and oh my goodness you haven’t taken a single photo. Nightmare.
Well, I’m here to save you from the horror of a photo-less trip!
Whenever I’m somewhere new, or even just in Paris or London, I tend to stick to the same 10 rules when taking my travel snaps, whether it be for instagram or n&b. So, in the spirit of fairness, I thought I’d share them with you all!
I mean, you just have to take a look at my instagram to see how effective they are…
Of course, my photos don’t stay specifically on topic, and nor should they, but these little prompts are incredibly useful when you’re feeling a little overwhelmed or uninspired. I don’t think I can look at a bunch of flowers without checking it through my camera lens anymore!
The cool thing about this prompts is that they’re also incredibly flexible. Some are quite literal (re: bicycles and food) and others are left entirely up to your imagination! I always find that having a mixture of fixed rules and creative outlets makes for a pretty nice looking instagram feed as well as keeping you well within your comfort zone (in an outside the box way!)
I’ll definitely be sticking with these as I travel to Bruges and Brussels this weekend.
Do you have any set prompts when taking photographs or are you more of a free spirit? Let me know!
